This is the no-brainer of the century. Web3 is decentralized Hollywood, and they have a great content library for kids and adults. So it’s only natural that they will port it over to their own metaverse.
Will this hurt their theme parks?
Not for a very, very long time. It will take 10 - 20 yrs to get to the point where families will skip going on vacation to Disney World or Disney Land.

CEO Bob Chapek describes it as a “VR environment enabling Disney fans to take part in games and theme park-like experience without hopping on a plane.”
Sounds kind of like the start of the Matrix to me. I’m both excited and scared at the potential of a Disney metaverse. I also can’t help by think of Banksys art exhibit called Dismaland.
Anyways, Expect more big studios to place big bets on the metaverse in the near future.
